How vFloorplan 3D helps QEII Centre maximise revenue

Our new website simplifies and streamlines the user experience and we commissioned vFloorplan to be used as an integrated and intuitive ‘room finding tool’ as it easily demonstrates where rooms are in relation to each other, illustrates room layouts and allows our international client base to take a tour through the Centre.

The Challenge
The QEII Centre’s brief:
- Keeping buyers on the website for longer and in a more engaged way to encourage more qualified enquiries and potential upsells.
- To cope with many variations and combinations of rooms, meeting spaces and over multiple floors within the floorplans of the building, the venue needed a way to quickly and easily demonstrate how different options and layouts could work across the floorplans – either remotely on desktop or mobile devices or even if they were visiting the venue.
- A solution with the potential to be further enhanced over the coming years to look good on the new website and generate qualified sales leads.
- Show where QEII Centre is located with an exciting and fun 30-second video. To include the major landmarks in the vicinity. To be used for the new website and in other marketing.
The QEII Centre became the first venue to purchase the mobile friendly vFloorplan, a one page HTML5 of interactive 3D floorplans incorporated within an impressive 3D computer generated representation of their building with some of the surrounding features like the green which is popular for event photographs.

The Solution
Their interactive capacity chart plays a key part in enhancing each buyer’s understanding of the spaces available to them at the QEII Centre. Once a search has been made for their required numbered of people, the result is shown on the floorplans and can be further filtered by room style on the interactive capacity chart to show the best room choice, e.g. boardroom, classroom, theatre, cabaret and dinners styles.
Buyers can quickly see which room is on the floorplans, what facilities is nearby to their event and which other rooms could be used for a breakout space or a reception. This flexibility greatly improves the overall buying experience from the initial website visit through to booking the space. The amount of information available to the buyer and its presentation ensures there are a lot less uncertainties about what is possible with the venue and event. This also helps the QEII Centre sales team when they are using the vFloorplan when speaking to the client.
The Benefits
This carries through from the buyer’s initial research on the website to when they visit the venue in person, as the vFloorplan can be used anywhere, including when walking around the venue.
vFloorplan also represents a great upsell tool that can be used by the QEII Centre venue team to quickly and clearly point out other options such as breakout rooms and show where they are located visually on the floorplans.
To show where the QEII Centre is located vFloorplan have created an exciting and epic 30-second 3D computer generated image (CGI) themed animation with sound, which takes you on a journey “flying” across from the London Eye wheel. It sweeps across the Thames and Westminster Bridge which unfolds before your eyes, past a chiming Big Ben and Houses of Parliament, into Parliament Square, past Westminster Abbey and the Supreme Court before arriving in front of the the QEII Centre’s impressive and striking building and welcoming open doors.
Their new website homepage showcases both the video and vFloorplan.
There will be far less confusion as to where the QEII Centre venue is located – right in the heart of Westminster.
